Aman Retreats was founded in Kota Kinabalu by a team that had spent years working in Sabah's hospitality and real estate sectors. What started as a small portfolio of personally managed coastal properties has grown into a considered collection of three distinct rental experiences, each selected and maintained to a consistent standard.
Our focus has always been narrow by design. Rather than listing dozens of properties, we work only with a small number at a time — ones we know thoroughly and can stand behind with confidence. Every property in the Aman Retreats portfolio is personally inspected before being offered to guests, and maintained throughout the rental period by a staff team we employ directly.
Sabah is a place of genuine natural beauty, and our properties are chosen to reflect that — positioned along the coast, within marine park proximity, or within private garden estates that bring the landscape indoors. We believe that a thoughtful stay here leaves a lasting impression, and we try to set the conditions for that wherever we can.

With 14 years in Sabah's property and hospitality sector, Nadia founded Aman Retreats to offer a more considered alternative to short-term listings. She personally approves each property that enters the portfolio.
Razif Hamdan
Head of Property Operations
Razif oversees all property maintenance, staff coordination, and guest logistics. His background in facilities management ensures that standards remain consistent across the entire portfolio year-round.
Lim Tze Wei
Guest Experience Lead
Tze Wei manages all guest communications from initial enquiry through to departure. Fluent in English and Mandarin, she ensures that international guests feel oriented and well-supported throughout their stay.
How We Keep the Quality Consistent
Property Vetting
Every property is personally inspected before being offered for rental. We assess structural integrity, water and electrical systems, furnishing quality, and the overall character of the setting.
Dedicated Housekeeping
Garden Villa and Estate properties include regular housekeeping as part of the monthly rental. Cottage guests receive a full clean-and-prepare service on arrival and are supported for any interim needs.
Secure Rental Agreements
All rentals are formalised through clear written agreements drafted under Malaysian law. Terms are explained directly and any questions addressed before signing.
Privacy & Discretion
Guest information is held in strict confidence and never shared with third parties. This is particularly relevant for the Estate and Villa guests who require a private and undisclosed stay.

Our team is reachable throughout the working day and provides an out-of-hours contact for urgent matters. We aim to respond to all enquiries within four business hours.
